Hidden Gems
Let Momentum find your next best donors using our Hidden Gems feature!
Overview
The "Hidden Gems" feature in Momentum is designed to help fundraisers identify unassigned donors who exhibit engagement behaviors that indicate potential for deeper relationship-building and increased giving. This feature leverages our proprietary algorithm called the to rank and prioritize these donors based on historical engagement and giving trends.
How It Works
Data Aggregation: The system analyzes donor engagement history, including:
Frequency of interactions with the organization.
Newsletter opens, event attendance, and responses to outreach.
Previous donation patterns and increasing giving trends.
Donor Selection Criteria:
Hidden Gems focuses on unassigned donors, meaning they are not currently managed within a fundraiser’s portfolio.
Uses a Giving Score algorithm to rank donors by their likelihood to contribute at higher levels based on past behaviors.
Excludes wealth screening data in this initial iteration.
Automated Prioritization:
Users can define query parameters to filter the pool of unassigned donors.
The system selects a predetermined number of top-ranked donors (e.g., top 100, 500).
Ranks donors based on their engagement history and giving patterns, ensuring fundraisers focus on high-potential relationships.
Best Practices for Using Hidden Gems
Review Query Parameters: Ensure filters align with strategic goals (e.g., recent but lapsed donors, high engagement but low giving).
Leverage Giving Score Documentation: Understand how donors are ranked to optimize outreach strategies.
Collaborate with Internal Teams: If donors require additional segmentation or deeper insight, involve data analytics or fundraising strategy teams.
Incorporate Additional Data Sources (Future Feature): Explore integration options with third-party alumni engagement platforms like AlmaBase to enhance donor insights.
Upcoming Enhancements
Future versions will incorporate wealth screening data for a more comprehensive ranking.
Integration with AlmaBase and other engagement tracking systems is under review.
Improved customizable scoring models to align donor prioritization with organizational strategies.

3. Can we adjust how donors are ranked?
The default ranking is based on the proprietary Giving Score, but future iterations may allow customizable ranking models.
4. How does this integrate with our CRM (e.g., Razor’s Edge)?
The feature does not pull in data from external systems like AlmaBase directly, but discussions on deeper CRM integrations are ongoing.
