Overview

Assistant Mode is a powerful feature in Momentum that allows you to view and interact with the app as another user. This makes it easy to set up new actions, create constituent lists, and even draft email copy on behalf of teammates.

Assistant Mode is designed to streamline collaboration and frontline fundraiser support while maintaining security.

Navigation

Look in the top right corner of the application for your user avatar (this will be your initials by default) to open your user menu.

Drop down and select Assistant Mode.

Managing Assistant Permissions

Before you can assist your teammates in Momentum, you'll need to be given access first.

If you’d like to allow a teammate to assist you:

  1. Navigate to Assistant Mode.

  2. You will see a list of your team members.

  3. Select the toggle beside a teammate's name to grant them access to your account.

  4. This teammate can now view your Momentum account and make changes.

✅ Note: Assistants will be able to configure settings and draft outreaches, but they cannot send emails on your behalf.

Assisting Others

If you want to assist a teammate:

  1. Open Assistant Mode.

  2. Select the teammate whose account you want to access.

  3. Click Log In.

  4. You will now see Momentum as they do, allowing you to:

    • Set up new outreaches.

    • Update lists.

    • Adjust account settings.

    • Manage email drafts.

  5. Once done, click the Exit button in the top-right corner to return to your own Momentum account.

tl;dr

  • Assistant Mode lets you view and assist another user’s account to set up outreaches, update lists, and configure settings (but not send emails).

  • Access it from your avatar in the top-right corner, select a teammate, and log in to assist them.

  • Exit anytime using the top-right button to return to your own account.
